Loita hills is in rift velly provence. Its almost at the border of Kenya and tanzania and the land is occupied by masai community who are pastrolist. The place is a semi desert, but there are permanent rivers which provide water for the animals. Its bordered by masai mara game reserve on one side and that make easier for wild animals to migrate from masai mara to loita. On the other side we have lake magadi, the biggest soda ash producer in east Africa and many flamingos flock the lake. We have the deepest down fall of great rift of about 300m down which is well seen on top of the escarpment. At the top of the escarpment you can see Mt. Kilimanjaro and lake natron in Tanzania when the weather is clear. The masai community are among the tribes in Kenya who have maintained their traditional culture. The animals you can see while trekking include elephants, foxes, giraffe, black and white columbas monkeys, antelopes, zebras and various bird species. There is also a hot spring where people take shower with natural hot water.

Details

DAY 1: NAIROBI - NGURUMAN

We will pick you from your hotel and after briefing you; you will be driven to magadi arriving in time for lunch. Proceed to nguruman for dinner and over night.

DAY 2: NGURUMAN - NJURUI

After breakfast we will hike to the top of the escarpment where we can see Mt. Kilimanjaro and lake natron which will take 4-5 hours. we will walk at the top of escarpment to njurui for lunch, dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: NJURUI - NKUTOTO

After breakfast we will walk on the river bank crossing one river several times; lunch on the way then proceed for dinner at nkutoto. The walk will take a duration of 8 – 9 hours.

DAY 4: NKUTOTO - NAROSORA

After breakfast start walking at loita plains, pass by a school. The smallest tribe in Kenya i.e the ndurumbos have settled here; lunch on the way and later proceed to narosora for diner and overnight.

DAY 5: NAROSORA - LETUKUNYI

After breakfast we will walk along loita plains, viewing some wild animals to motorok for lunch and later to letukunyi for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6: LETUKUNYI - MAJI MOTO

Depart camp after breakfast and keep walking on loita plains viewing some animals, pass by the biggest manyatta villanges at morinju to maji moto for lunch. In the evening you go for a natural hot water shower. Diner and overnight at the camp.

DAY 7: MAJI MOTO - NAIROBI

After breakfast depart and you will be driven to Nairobi; lunch en route or proceed to Masai Mara for a safari.
