This 13 Days Loita Hills trekking tour from Nguruman to Maji Moto, Masai Mara and Mount Kenya is a deeply immersive journey into the heart of Maasai culture and one of Kenya’s last untouched wilderness regions.

Nguruman is on the floor of rift valley. Nguruman escarpment is among the most scenic view point
in the Kenyan Maasai land. Nguruman escarpment is on forested hill which features Savannah and
dense forests, while on top of Nguruman escarpment you can sight lake Magadi, lake Natron in
Tanzania and river ewasonyiro water falls. Our trekking starts from Nguruman to the top of
escarpment towards Narosora and Majimoto.
Day 1: Nairobi to nguruman via lake Magadi.
Pick up at 8am for a drive to Nguruman town. Lunch break at Lake Magadi and explore about the
lake. Dinner and overnight at Nguruman.
Day 2: Escarpment, Nguruman to Njoroi.
After breakfast,we start early before sunrise is too hot to face the challenging ascent hill to the top
of escarpment.this is where we are able to have the best view of Lake Magadi,lake natron in
Tanzania, river ewasonyiro among others on clear day.
Dinner and overnight at njoroi camp.
Day 3: Njoroi to Enkutoto
(6 to 7 hours) starts at 8am; Interacting with Maasai, their culture and
wildlife.
On this day most of early morning we are to walk along river bank (entosopia) where we will be
crossing it five times, featuring black and white columbus monkeys.
Lunch enroute , dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 4: Enkutoto to Narosora
(6 to 7 hours) start at 8am
We continue interacting with Maasai community, their culture and their traditions.
On this day we encounter with ndorombo people, a sub tribe of maasai community and the smallest
tribe in Kenya. On good timing of market day ( Wednesday of every week) at Narosora town we have
the best chance to interact with big Maasai population. Lunch at Narosora town, dinner and
overnight at a camp site.
Day 5: Narosora Litukunyi (5 to 6 hours) start at 8am
We continue enjoying Maasai culture. On this day we encounter with more wildlife like boffalos,
wildebeests, giraffe's, antelopes, elephants and many more . Lunch enroute dinner and overnight at
the camp.
Day 6: Litukunyi to Majimoto (6 to 7 hours) Start at 8am.
Walk on scattered bushes encountering with wildlife, various bird species. Pass by ndarara reaching at Maji moto in afternoon. We visit hot springs for open shower later in the evening. Dinner and overnight at the camp
Today you will have an early breakfast and start an early morning walk up along the trail on the ridge leading to the Great Rift Valley view point. After a panoramic photo moment from the top, descend the Ngurumani escarpment before the sun get too hot to the Ngurumani village at the bottom of the valley 4-5 hrs. This area might be very hot because of its location at a low altitude take a transfer to Nairobi via Lake Magadi where minerals known as soda Ash is extracted and then drive on with a lunch break on the way to Nairobi here you will arrive in a late afternoon ending transfer to Mara mara for dinner and overnight at the camp
Day 8: Full-day Masai Mara Safari
Wake up at 6:30am and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast, you will spend the entire day on game drives, heading out with a picnic lunch. The Masai Mara is renowned for its lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos, and buffalo, which comprise the Big Five. However, spotting leopards and rhinos can be challenging as they are pretty shy and elusive. The park’s concentration of wildlife is truly extraordinary!
You will proceed to the Mara River, where the great migration of wildebeests occurs every year. Lunch will be served here, and guests are advised not to feed the monkeys as they may try to snatch some of your fruits—this behavior is typical in this area.
While at the river, you can visit the hippo pool, where you might see crocodiles basking on the rocks. You will also see numerous plains game, including antelopes, wildebeests, zebras, and Masai giraffes, as well as scavengers like hyenas and vultures. After lunch, we will continue exploring the park as we return to camp.
Day 9: Masai Mara and Return to Nairobi
After breakfast, you have the option to visit a Masai village for a cultural experience (US $20 per person).
Later, you will drive back to Nairobi, stopping for lunch along the way. You will arrive early evening and be dropped off at your hotel.
Day 10: Nairobi/ Nanyuki
Depart Nairobi in the morning at around 9/10am for Nanyuki arriving in time for lunch. The afternoon is spent in this area for acclimatization by walking along the equitor line. Dinner and overnight in a budget hotel.
Day 11: Old Moses Camp
After breakfast, drive to Sirimon Park Gate. After check-in start hiking through the Rain Forest for 9 km (5/6 hours) to Old Moses camp (3300m). Dinner and overnight in the camp.
Day 12: Old moses/Shipton Camp
Depart Old Moses Camp at 7:30 am via Mackinders Valley to Shipton Camp (4200m). The distance takes 8to9 hrs 15km. Dinner and overnight.
Day 13: Shimpton/Point Lenana/ Chogoria
Early morning departure (3:00 am) to the summit, a walk that takes 3 hrs to point Lenana (4985m) arriving at 6:30 in the morning. After sunrise, descend to Mintos Hut for full breakfast and later proceed down through the Gorges valley to Chogoria Bandas and campsite. Dinner and overnight.
Day 14 : Chogoria/ Nairobi
After breakfast, set on morning journey to Chogoria village(32km) if you don’t want you can take a jeep you pay direct or you cost share in a group. Then after Chogoria the transport is provided back to Nairobi, arriving late afternoon.
